Settings and committee

Configure your masjid profile, branding, menu and committee access.

Settings is where you configure how your masjid works in InflowBooks. It opens on a list of areas, and each row says what is saved there right now, so you can see whether the public page is on or which receipt number comes next without opening anything. Tap a row to open that area; on a wide screen the list stays beside it. The areas are Profile, Register and features, Numbering and documents, Branding, Public page, Committee logins, Roles and permissions, Menu, Activity, and Subscription and messages. Most masjids set these up once and only return occasionally.

Profile

Your masjid's basic details: its display name, the registered or legal name, a contact email and phone number, and the full address. The currency and time zone are fixed when the masjid is first created and are shown read-only here, so amounts and dates always behave consistently.

Two of these fields are for the public page: a map link (a Google Maps share link) gives it a Get directions button, and an office hours line tells visitors when the office is open.

What you are called

InflowBooks is used by masjids, and also by madrasas, colleges and trusts that collect subscriptions and donations in the same way. Two fields in the profile decide the words the dashboard uses for you.

What to call this organisation
The word used in headings and labels, as in "College profile" or "Trust details". Pick one of the suggestions or type your own. Leave it blank and it stays Masjid.
What to call the people you collect from
One person, as in Member, Donor or Subscriber. The plural is added for you, so the menu reads Donors. It is used in the register, in reports and on receipts.

These change the wording only. Nothing you have recorded is altered, and your committee keeps its own vocabulary: an organisation that calls its people Donors still has a committee Member role for read-only access. Your public page follows the same word.

Register and features

How your register is kept, and which optional parts of the dashboard are switched on: the houses register, house clusters, follow-up rounds, the cash book and Waqf registration. Each is a card that states whether it is on; open it to change it.

Houses register

With the houses register off, you keep a simple list of members. Turn it on to keep a Mahallu register, which organises people into households and families and adds the Houses section. Your existing members and payments are not affected either way. Turning it off hides the houses, clusters and household registration links without deleting them, and household forms waiting for review can only be rejected until it is back on. Turning it on again brings everything back. This choice is offered to masjids; an organisation that calls itself something else keeps the simple register.

House clusters

On the Mahallu model you can also turn on House clusters, which groups houses into areas, each with a cluster leader. It is off by default; see Houses for how clusters work once enabled.

Waqf registration

If your masjid is registered with the State Waqf Board, switch Waqf registration on here. The Board name, registration number and contribution rate are entered on the Waqf page itself. See Waqf for how this is used.

Numbering and documents

Set the prefix used for receipt numbers, house numbers and member numbers. You build the prefix from tokens that fill in the date automatically: {YYYY} for the four-digit year, {YY} for the two-digit year, {MM} for the month and {DD} for the day. For example, RCPT-{YYYY}- produces numbers like RCPT-2026-0001. A receipt prefix with a date in it starts again at 1 when that date moves on, so the first receipt of 2027 is RCPT-2027-0001. A live preview shows the next number as you type, so you can see the result before you save.

The member number prefix works the same way: with M- configured, the Add member form suggests M-001, M-002 and so on, continuing from your highest existing number. Leave it empty if your register does not use member numbers.

Receipt numbers count up in one masjid-wide book. A fund run by a committee of its own can keep a receipt book of its own, with its own prefix and its own running numbers; that is set on the fund's page, see Funds and campaigns.

If your masjid already issued receipts from a paper book, enter the last number written in it under Last receipt number used. The next receipt continues from there: with 1843 entered, the next receipt is MSJ-001844. A fund with its own receipt book has the same field on its page. The number can only be increased, never lowered, so no receipt number is ever issued twice.

Separator sets what goes between the prefix and the number: a hyphen, slash, dot, space, or nothing. Digits sets how many digits the number is padded to with zeros; No padding prints the number as it is. With a slash and no padding, receipt 1844 prints as MSJ/1844, the way many paper books are numbered. A change applies from the next receipt; receipts already issued keep their numbers.

Payments you imported, or entered before you started issuing receipts, have no receipt. Open Numbering and choose Issue receipts in bulk to give each completed payment in a date range its receipt, optionally for one fund only. The page shows how many payments and what total first. Receipts are numbered from the oldest payment, dated the day you issue them, and the payments can no longer be edited afterwards. Collections still awaiting deposit are left out. Where WhatsApp receipts are available, you can also send each one to the member, with the cost shown before you start. Only an administrator can do this.

Subscription and messages

Subscription and receipts shows what your masjid pays for InflowBooks itself: your plan, the yearly amount, the date you are paid through, and when your last payment was received. The panel bar itself carries the status, so you can see whether you are paid up without opening it. A masjid the platform does not charge shows No charge here.

Every renewal recorded by the platform appears in the same section as a numbered receipt, with the amount, the date, how it was paid and the period it covers. Choose Print to open it for printing, or PDF to save a copy for your records or your auditor. The receipt is issued by InflowBooks and lists your masjid as the payer, which is the reverse of the receipts you give your own members. Renewals paid before receipts were introduced are not listed.

If InflowBooks refunds a payment, the refund appears under the receipt it refunds, with its own numbered refund note and its own Print note and PDF buttons. The line says how much went back, on what date, and the date your plan now ends. A refund asked for within the refund window of the refund policy returns the whole payment and the period it bought; a later refund returns the unused part from the refund date, and the plan ends that day. Extra months your masjid earned by referring another one are listed under Bonus months, each with the masjid it came from (see Refer a mahallu).

Renewing your plan

From 30 days before the date you are paid through, this section shows when your plan renews and a Renew now button. Renewing early loses nothing: the new term starts from that date.

  1. Choose a term: one year, or two or three years paid upfront with months free. Only terms that keep you within three paid years ahead are offered.
  2. Scan the QR, or pay the amount shown to the UPI ID, from any UPI app.
  3. Enter the UPI reference from your payment app and the day you paid, then choose I’ve paid.

InflowBooks checks the payment, renews the plan and sends your receipt. A plan change or a question about a payment goes to the platform administrator.

Branding

Upload your logo and your browser tab icon, and choose your two brand colours, so InflowBooks, your public page and everything you print match your identity. A logo can be a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG file up to 1 MB. The tab icon should be square, as a PNG, ICO or SVG file up to 256 KB.

Logo colours says whether your logo is a dark mark or a light one. It is read from the image when you upload it, and decides what sits behind the logo: a dark logo goes on a white plate wherever the page is coloured, a light logo on the brand colour. Change it if the logo is hard to see on your public page.

Printed documents (under Numbering and documents)

The same section covers what appears on the documents InflowBooks prints for you: receipts, payment reminders and reports. A receipt leaves a ruled line for a seal and a signature; upload a picture of each and they are printed on those lines, so a receipt is ready to hand over without being stamped and signed by hand. Both must be PNG files up to 512 KB with a transparent background, otherwise a white box prints over the paper. A fund run by a committee of its own can sign its receipts differently; see Funds and campaigns.

Seal and signature chooses how those two rules are filled. Print the scans uses what you uploaded. Sign and stamp by hand leaves both rules blank on every receipt and keeps your uploads on file, for a committee that would rather stamp the printed paper itself. No seal or signature leaves the block off the page altogether.

Receipt design chooses the page every receipt is drawn on. Classic is the full ornate page with your brand band and background mark. Minimal is a clean, ink-light page that photocopies well. Compact is a half-page slip, sized like a receipt book leaf. Each card shows your own receipt drawn in that design, with your name, colours and logo. A fund run by its own committee can pick a different design on its fund page.

Payment voucher design chooses the same for the voucher printed from each expense. Leave it on Same as receipts to keep the two matching, or pick a different one.

Background mark controls the large faint mark behind a document. Keep the standard mark, remove it for plain paper, or upload a picture of your own, again a PNG file up to 512 KB. It prints faintly, so a simple shape works best. Whichever you choose, every document carries a small InflowBooks logo in the footer, the same one your sign-in page shows.

Menu

One area covers both which sections appear in the left menu and which optional features InflowBooks has switched on for you.

Features

This list shows which parts of InflowBooks your masjid has access to, and whether each one is on. The core sections are always on. Optional ones, such as WhatsApp reminders, are switched on by the platform administrator rather than by your committee, so if something you need is off, contact them to ask for it.

Sidebar menu

You can hide the optional sections you do not use, to keep the menu tidy. Statistics, Houses, Registrations, WhatsApp, Collections, Expenses, Staff, Properties, Waqf and Import and export can each be hidden, and only the ones available to you are listed. Statistics, Houses and Registrations belong to the Mahallu type, and Waqf appears once Waqf registration is on. The core sections, Home, Members, Payments, Funds and Reports, are always shown.

Public page

Turn your masjid's public page on or off. When it is on, the sections below control what visitors see. For a full tour, see Your public page.

Ways to give

Enter the payment details you want shown to donors. Any field you leave blank is simply hidden on the public page, so you can show only the methods you accept.

UPI id and payee name
The UPI address donors send to, and the name shown alongside it so they know the payment is going to the right place.
Bank account details
Account name, number and IFSC for anyone who prefers a bank transfer.
Donation note
An optional short message, for example a word of thanks or guidance on what a donation supports.

Public page content

The welcome heading and tagline at the top of the page, a cover photo behind them, the year the masjid was established and a short About text. Anything left blank is left off the page.

Prayer times

Pick your location so the public page can display the daily prayer times for your area.

Jamaat and Jumuah times

When the Jumuah khutbah begins, and when the congregation stands for each prayer: either a fixed time, or a number of minutes after that prayer's azan, which the page works out from the day's azan time. They appear under the prayer times on the public page. Leave a value blank to leave it out.

Published accounts

Upload your statement of accounts as a PDF with a title, and it appears on the public page with the date it was published. Replace it with a new file or take it down at any time.

Committee on the public page

Show your office bearers to visitors. Manage the list from Settings → Committee on the public page → Manage committee, where each person needs only a name; a position, phone number, photo and a Contact for line (what to ring them about) are optional. This roster is separate from the logins under Committee logins below: appearing on the public page does not give anyone access.

Clusters on the public page

Once House clusters are on, you can also show each cluster and its leader publicly, so members know who looks after their area. Contact numbers and leader photos are added per cluster on the Clusters page under Houses, and a member's own recorded phone number is never published.

Committee logins

This is the list of everyone who has access to your masjid in InflowBooks, along with their role. From here you can rename someone's display name, change a person's role, temporarily disable and later re-enable their access, or remove someone entirely.

Names matter here beyond the list itself: a payment shows who recorded it and a receipt shows who issued it, so anyone with no name on file appears as Not given on their own entries. Each committee member can also set their own name from Your account, without waiting for an administrator.

Adding a committee member

  1. Open Settings and go to Committee logins.
  2. Choose Add member and enter their name, email and the role you want to give them: a built-in role or one of your own.
  3. Save. InflowBooks creates a one-time password and shows it to you once. Copy it before you close the panel, then share it with them.
  4. They sign in with that password and are prompted to set their own. Their access is now active.

Roles and permissions

The five built-in roles cover most committees. When they do not fit, make your own here: give it a name, choose a level for each part of the app, and give it to a person under Committee logins. A built-in role can be duplicated as a starting point but not changed. See Roles and access for the steps.

Activity

The Activity area holds two logs: changes to money and members, and sign-ins. Each entry shows who did what and when; edits show the values before and after. Entries cannot be edited or deleted. Filter the changes by type or by person, and open an entry to see the full record.

Install app

Installing InflowBooks on a phone or computer is about the device you are using, not about your masjid, so it lives under Account. Choose Install app there. On an iPhone or an iPad, open the page in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.

To help someone else install it, use Help others install in the same place. Send the link in WhatsApp, copy it, or show the QR code for them to scan. The link opens a page with an Install button and the steps for their phone. Members can install it too: it opens your public page, and committee members sign in from there.
